We stayed as a family group for a week in June. The house is not only beautiful but very homely and has everything you could need and want. We travelled with a baby and the house was very well equipped for my 9 month old. The facilities are fantastic (sauna, pool etc) and you could not beat the setting. We hope to come back again!

From start to finish we loved this place, it was everything and more. The house was spotless and had a vast array of appliances and space. We loved the peaceful nature around it and the view! As it was our first time in Castletownbere we appreciated all the local recommendations and every single person we met was so friendly and helpful. John was incredibly kind and flexible with our last minute booking, and helped make it a very special stay for me and my extended family.
The house is stunning inside and out, wonderfully equipped, and the location is incredibly peaceful. Even though the local area has a great deal to offer, you could spend a week just relaxing in this wonderful house.

Seal Cottage is located on 3 acres of private woodlands in a most exclusive part of the Beara peninsula, Waterfall, Castletownbere, West Cork which has a long history. It overlooks a beach and has spectacular sea views.

On the eastern side of Seal Cottage lies Waterfall House. It was the official residence of the Royal Naval commodore of the Western Approaches squadron, anchored in Berehaven. It was purchased a number of years back by the film director Neil Jordan who spends much of his free time there.

Beside Seal Cottage lies the Hermitage, built just after the Second World War. It was built on the site of a farmstead - Curryglass House, dating back to about 1800. Erskine Hamilton Childers, President of the Irish Republic and son of the IRA man Robert Erskine Childers, stayed in the house periodically with the owners his friends.
